Moonglow LaManchas

Thank you for your interest in my herd. I have been raising LaManchas since 2000, when I acquired my first two doelings and was completely hooked on their unique looks and personalities. I am striving to breed animals that excel in the showring and pay their way in the milkpail as well.

This year has been a good one for me in the showring so far. We are only halfway through and GCH Cash-Farms TX This Kiss has earned all three legs and finished and Moonglow CF Black Solitaire 2*M, South-Fork TTN Mirage 4*M, Moonglow RD SheDaisy, and Moonglow Con Black Romeo AI have all earned RCH.

I linear appraised this year and had a herd average score of almost 89. I really feel my herd has improved tremendously due to this program and my breeding program has become more focused and productive. The highlight of the session was having GCH Moonglow NP Jacqueline 1*M linear at 6-03 92 EEEE. The herd is also on DHIA test. I am usually unable to keep milking twice a day after late September, so the DHIA records will reflect that, but overall I am very happy with their performance and it gives me another measure of their quality.

The whole herd is vaccinated for entero and tetanus and dewormed regularly. They are all fed the best alfalfa I can get along with 16% grain mix and free choice mineral.

I raise my kids on a CAE prevention program consisting of feeding heat-treated colostrum and pasteurized milk. All kids are taken at birth and raised in separate facilities away from the adult doe herd. The kids are individually bottle fed to ensure that they all receive the highest level of care. They are vaccinated for entero and tetanus.

I will only sell kids that I feel are of very high quality, and I am happy to have carry my herd name. I don't guarantee they will all be winners, but will do my best to get you the nicest animal possible. I will take names, but not deposits, for buck kids out of first freshening does, as I will not sell these kids as bucks until I make the final decision on their dams mammaries when they freshen. I will replace any animal found to be genetically unsound or infertile with a kid of equal value, as long as you provide me with a veterinarian's signed statement that the problem was of genetic origin. No kids can be registered out of animals that have been replaced.

A $75.00 deposit is required to reserve the kid of your choice, with the remainder due upon notification of birth. If the kid is not paid for within two weeks of notification, then the kid will be offered to someone else. I reserve the right to retain my choice of herd replacements, so I request that you make two choices when reserving a kid. If neither choice is available, your deposit will be refunded or carried over to the next year. No refund of deposits on cancelled orders.

Kids can be shipped out of Denver International Airport. The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs, including crates and health papers. There is no extra charge for delivery to the airport.

I am currently taking deposits for the 2009 kidding season. The majority of my kid crop will be offered for sale in order to maintain a reasonable herd size. I retained quite a few doeling this last year to freshen and so will also be offering several quality milkers for sale in the spring at reasonable prices. Inquire if you are interested in a milking doe.
